LOCATION: Hybrid- Virtual and Rockville Centre and/or Garden City and/or Sea Cliff

AVAILABILITY: Days, evenings and/or weekends

START DATE: Immediately

ABOUT THE ROLE

New York Behavioral Health, an outpatient private practice, is seeking a licensed psychologist to provide individual and group therapy to our clients. Clinical therapy services include treatment of children, adolescents, adults, couples, and families using evidence-based treatments.

Clinicians are accountable for:

  • Maintaining a caseload
  • Retaining clients
  • Providing appropriate treatment plans
  • Providing timely and accurate documentation 
  • Maintaining our standards of ethics and compliance

Clinician Job Responsibilities Include: 

  • Perform on-site and/or virtual therapy services as scheduled, and in accordance with company policies.  
  • Maintain proper licensure and abide by all laws, rules, regulations, and codes of ethics that are binding upon or applicable to the services performed.
  • Respond to clients’ requests for service or calls within 24 hours whether requests are made in person, by phone, voicemail, etc. or through the website. Respond to requests by meeting, evaluating, and providing services to clients.  
  • Communicate with a client’s treatment team (i.e., PCP, psychiatrist, school, etc.) as necessary.
  • Conduct intake assessments 
  • Provide complete written records for each client including intake notes, progress notes, treatment plans, termination notes, contract notes, and other forms or documents which may be needed or required from time-to-time (by Friday of each week). 
  • Keep client files accurate and up-to-date.
  • Charge and collect payments from clients for services provided consistent with the policy and rate for such services as established.
  • Attend mandatory staff meetings and trainings as directed.
  • Conduct and regulate therapy services in a professional manner.  Be respectful of and cooperative and collaborative with co-workers.
  • Other duties may be assigned.

Skills and Requirements

  • Regular and reliable attendance and timely arrival to work is required.
  • Doctoral Degree in psychology
  • Active, unrestricted license in the State of New York.  A copy must be provided.
  • Available to hold at least 10 client sessions per week, provided such sessions are available and referred/scheduled.
  • Be organized and detail oriented.
  • Be able to work independently on tasks assigned.
  • Have strong written and verbal communication skills and strong interpersonal skills.
  • Prior experience in a private practice setting is highly preferred.
  • Training and experience in at least one of the following CBT, ACT, REBT, DBT 
  • Have at least one niche market for counseling services (i.e., children, teens, trauma, anxiety, grief, anger management, etc.).
